Sandhill protects egg!

The Sandhill Cranes have their first egg of the season! You can see the egg in this picture and that’s the female near it. These birds are very docile EXCEPT when an egg comes! 

They become very aggressive which makes husbandry a challenge! We expect them to lay one more egg then we will exchange these eggs for fake eggs and allow them to complete the process.
